Recording

The track was produced by Drexciya for the 1994 Rephlex EP Drexciya 3: Molecular Enhancement. The record credited Drexciya as producer and composer, reflecting the anonymous Detroit studio partnership of James Stinson and Gerald Donald. Released in the United Kingdom by Rephlex in 1994, the track formed part of Drexciya's early international catalogue outside Underground Resistance and Submerge. It helped extend the group's aquatic mythology into the European electro and techno underground. The track remained central enough to Drexciya's catalogue to appear on The Quest in 1997 and Journey of the Deep Sea Dweller IV in the 2010s. Later reviews of the Clone reissue series singled out its sharp, phased synth sound as part of the group's enduring force.
