Songbird

Eva Cassidy · 1994
Recording

The track was recorded for Eva by Heart from studio recordings Cassidy was working on before her death in 1996. Chris Biondo produced and recorded the version, which later appeared on the 1998 compilation Songbird. Released posthumously in 1997 on Eva by Heart and popularized by the 1998 Songbird compilation, it became one of the recordings that introduced Cassidy to a broad international audience. The single reached number 56 on the UK Singles Chart. It remains one of Cassidy best known recordings and a central example of her reputation as an interpreter of other writers songs. The track also renewed attention on Christine McVie original composition through Cassidy posthumous success.
