Forever My Friend

Recorded and mixed at Sunset Sound Recorders in Hollywood during the sessions for Ray LaMontagne's debut album, Trouble. Ethan Johns produced, engineered and arranged the track while playing drums, bass, piano, harmonium, percussion and additional guitars alongside LaMontagne's acoustic guitar and vocal. The song appeared on Trouble in 2004 and was issued as a promotional single in 2005. Its warm ensemble arrangement and intimate vocal performance helped define the debut album's understated sound. The track remains a recognised early LaMontagne recording and became a recurring part of his live sets, including his 2005 Bonnaroo performance. It has continued to appear on acoustic compilations and anniversary editions of Trouble.
