She's Got That Vibe

R. Kelly recorded 'She's Got That Vibe' as a member of Public Announcement for their debut album Born into the 90's, released on Jive Records in 1992, with Kelly writing and producing the track himself in Chicago. Released as the debut single from Born into the 90's in 1992, 'She's Got That Vibe' reached number 3 on the Billboard R&B chart and announced Kelly as a major new force in New Jack Swing, immediately establishing his template of combining smooth vocal harmonies with hard-edged rhythmic production. The track launched one of the most commercially dominant careers in 1990s R&B, and its combination of street-inflected production with romantic vocal delivery directly established the sonic blueprint Kelly would refine across his subsequent solo recordings throughout the decade.
