Dollar

Recorded in Trinidad with Taxi and vocalist Colin Lucas, with Lucas credited as arranger and Robin Imamshah credited for production and engineering. The song first appeared on Lucas’s 1992 Carnival Party release and was later issued on a 7-inch single in the UK on Soca Anthem UK. "Dollar" was a Carnival-era soca hit built as a dance guide, and it became the best-known song from Lucas’s brief run with Taxi. Contemporary and retrospective coverage treats it as one of the defining party soca records of the early 1990s. The track has remained a standard in soca playlists, compilation albums, radio sets, and digital reissues, and it is still identified with Lucas’s career decades later. Its hook and dance instructions kept it in circulation well beyond its original Carnival run.
