Good Song

Good Song

Blur · 2003
Recording

The track was recorded during the Think Tank sessions after Graham Coxon had left Blur, with Damon Albarn, Alex James and Dave Rowntree working across sessions in London, Devon and Marrakech. Ben Hillier produced the album with Blur, shaping the track sparse acoustic and electronic arrangement. Released as a single from Think Tank in 2003, it showed Blur moving away from their Britpop guitar identity into a looser post Coxon sound. The single reached number 22 on the UK Singles Chart and reinforced the album quieter, more atmospheric side. It remains a notable late period Blur single and one of the clearest examples of the band trio era sound before their long recording hiatus. The track has endured through Think Tank reassessments and its animated music video by Shynola.
