The remix was produced by Manchester DJ and producer Ben Pearce as a reinterpretation of Le Youth's breakout single C O O L. Pearce recast the vocal-led original into a deeper, club-focused house arrangement. Released in 2013, the remix united two emerging figures of the early-2010s house resurgence and received support from underground DJs and digital music platforms. It helped extend the reach of C O O L into deeper house and late-night club settings. The remix remains one of the better-known reworks of C O O L and is regularly associated with the early-2010s crossover between underground deep house and mainstream dance music.
