Holding Back The Years

Recorded for AfroJam’s 80s Go Reggae compilation, with Daynea Deacon credited as the performer and Devon Bradshaw, Prezident Brown, and Beezy Coleman credited as producers. The release is dated May 14, 2010. This version presented Simply Red’s 1985 hit as a reggae cover on a themed compilation, framing the song for a new dancehall and lovers rock audience. It was issued on AfroJam rather than as a chart single. The recording remains the documented Daynea Deacon version of the song and circulates in digital catalogs and track databases as a cover performance from 80s Go Reggae. Its continued listing alongside other covers keeps the song active within reggae-crossover repertory.
