Careless Whisper

Empress Latoyah recorded a reggae cover of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley’s "Careless Whisper" for the compilation '80s Go Reggae. The release credits Devon Bradshaw, Prezident Brown, and Beezy Coleman as producers. The track reworked one of the 1980s’ best-known pop ballads into a reggae compilation cut. It introduced the song to a different album context and linked Empress Latoyah with a run of reggae cover versions of major pop hits. The recording has continued to circulate on digital and compilation releases, including Best of Reggae Lounge (The 80's Edition). It remains part of the broader afterlife of "Careless Whisper" as a widely covered song.
