Another Victory

Recorded for the 1989 album Its A Big Daddy Thing, the track paired Big Daddy Kane with producer Easy Mo Bee. The song credits Al Jackson, Antonio Hardy, Booker T Jones, Duck Dunn and Steve Cropper, reflecting its use of Booker T and the MGs source material. Another Victory appeared near the front of Big Daddy Kanes commercially successful second album on Cold Chillin and Warner Bros. The album broadened his profile beyond battle rap while keeping room for hard lyrical showcases like this track. The track remains a fan favorite from the Its A Big Daddy Thing album and a noted Easy Mo Bee production before his major 1990s work. Its Stax derived musical base connects Kanes golden age rap style to earlier soul and funk sources.
