I Got U

I Got U

Duke Dumont · 2014
Recording

I Got U was recorded in June 2012 by Duke Dumont with Jax Jones, with Kelli-Leigh Henry-Davila providing the lead vocal. The single credits Adam Dyment and Timucin Aluo as producers, Tommy Forrest as mixer, and Hal Ritson for sample recreation production and backing vocals. The single followed Duke Dumont's UK number-one Need U (100%) and gave him a second consecutive Official Singles Chart number one. Its bright vocal hook, steel-drum motif and interpolation of Whitney Houston's My Love Is Your Love made it one of the defining British house-pop crossover records of 2014. I Got U remains one of Duke Dumont's signature singles and a key early record for Jax Jones. Its chart success helped cement the mid-2010s UK house revival in the pop mainstream.
