Love Tribe · 1996
Recording

Recorded in 1996 by the American house studio group Love Tribe, with Latanza Waters on vocals. The original single was built around production by Dewey Bullock and Victor Mitchell. The track became Love Tribe’s breakout release, reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart and crossing over to the UK Top 25 and the Billboard Hot 100. It gave the group its defining hit and established the song as a club staple in the 1990s. The song remained Love Tribe’s signature record and was later reworked for new club audiences, including Thunderpuss’s 2001 version and later cover interpretations. Its hook and dance-floor appeal kept it circulating in DJ sets, compilations, and dance-pop retrospectives.
