That’s What I Got

Liberty City · 1998
Recording

Recorded and mixed at Home Depot Studios in Miami, Florida, by Oscar Gaetan and Ralph Falcon operating under their Murk production alias, with vocals by Shauna Solomon. Released on TRIBAL America in 1995, the track was the third single under Murk's Liberty City alias and became one of the duo's most acclaimed productions, establishing the project as the strongest of their many recording pseudonyms. Its stripped-back, bassline-driven vocal house sound exemplified the raw Miami tribal house aesthetic that Murk helped define during the mid-1990s. The track remains a definitive example of mid-1990s Miami house and a staple of deep house DJ sets decades after release, with the Oscar G dub and Stripped to 'Da Bone mixes earning particular longevity in underground club culture.
