Recording

Recorded in 2003 at Stereolab's Instant Zero studio near Bordeaux with engineer Fulton Dingley, the track features Laetitia Sadier's vocals. Andy Ramsay recorded separate drum performances for the left and right channels as part of the band's dual-mono approach. It opened Instant 0 in the Universe, Stereolab's first release after Mary Hansen's death in December 2002. Contemporary reviews highlighted its melodic strength and layered vocals. The track subsequently appeared on Margerine Eclipse in 2004 and the career anthology Serene Velocity in 2006.
