The Peaks

Polly Mackey wrote, produced and recorded the track in her own East London studio, with backing vocals from Marika Hackman. Its foundation emerged from an accidentally overloaded Prophet synthesizer signal, developed with bass, guitar, drums and layered vocals. Released in November 2025 alongside the announcement of Lean In, the song explored love, vulnerability and the desire to stay alive for others. Its contrasting passages of intensity and calm reflected those emotional tensions. The track became a production case study in MusicRadar's 2026 studio coverage. Mackey demonstrated its construction and shared the stems for listeners to create their own remixes.
