Fresh (7" Single Version)

Recorded in 1983 for Profile Records by Fresh 3 MC's. Dave Ogrin and Bill Moore produced the single, and contemporary trade coverage identified Ogrin as the engineer. The track introduced Fresh 3 MC's as part of Profile Records’ early-1980s rap roster and became the group’s best-known release. It circulated in the New York old-school rap scene and drew early radio-trade attention in 1984. “Fresh” went on to be sampled by multiple later artists, including Schoolly D, Doug E. Fresh, Aesop Rock, and Tha Alkaholiks. It remains the group’s most recognizable recording and a recurring touchstone in old-school hip-hop compilations and sample histories.
