Secret Rendezvous

René & Angela recorded Secret Rendezvous during the July 1981 sessions for Wall to Wall at Kendun Recorders in Burbank, California. René Moore and Angela Winbush wrote and performed the song, with Bobby Watson co-producing and Benjamin Wright credited for string arrangement on the recording. Secret Rendezvous first appeared on Wall to Wall, the duo's second Capitol album, released in August 1981. A UK Champion single issue reached number 54 on the Official Singles Chart in 1985, giving the album cut a later club and radio afterlife. The track remained one of René & Angela's most durable pre-Mercury recordings among soul and rare-groove collectors. Its polished arrangement, duet structure, and late-night mood helped sustain interest in the Wall to Wall album beyond the duo's later hits.
