The Scorcher (dance mix)

Recorded and produced by 4hero (Dego McFarlane and Marc Mac) alongside Da Rebel and Gus Lawrence at Stone Cold Studios in 1990, released by the group's own label Reinforced Records. An early flagship track for 4hero's Reinforced Records imprint, establishing their signature fusing of breakbeat hardcore with soulful funk samples and warehouse rave energy; featured prominently on the influential Thin Ice compilation in 1991. Remains a foundational track in the evolution from breakbeat hardcore toward jungle and drum and bass, with its layered breakbeats, funk samples, and atmospheric density influencing the UK underground dance music landscape throughout the 1990s.
