Clive the Runner

Bobby Hughes Combination, the project of Norwegian DJ and producer Espen Horne, recorded 'Clive the Runner' for the album Nhu Golden Era, released on the German label Stereo Deluxe in 2002, with Horne producing under the Bobby Hughes Combination alias. The track gained prominent placement on Stéphane Pompougnac's Hôtel Costes 7 compilation in 2002, one of the era's most influential and widely distributed chillout and lounge series, exposing it to a large international audience. 'Clive the Runner' became one of the defining tracks of the early 2000s European nu-jazz and lounge scene, remaining closely associated with the Hôtel Costes sound and continuing to appear on compilations exploring that era's blend of jazz-inflected electronic production.
