Recording

Scan X released The Soul on the 2002 12-inch Higher / The Soul for F Communications. The record was produced by Stéphane Dri under his Scan X alias and served as the first single from How To Make The Unpredictable Necessary? The track marked Scan X's return to F Communications after his 1990s run on the label. It placed his live-oriented French techno sound back into circulation alongside the label's early-2000s catalogue. The Soul remained part of Scan X's catalogue through How To Make The Unpredictable Necessary? and later F Communications remastered editions. It preserves the direct club side of his post-Chroma work.
