Cloudbusting

Gemma Hayes · 2025

Recording

Recorded live at Cleere’s Bar & Theatre in Kilkenny, Ireland on 23 March 2025, with Gemma Hayes on guitar and lead vocals, Rachael Boyd on violin, keyboards, synthesizer and backing vocals, and Ross Turner on drums. This was Hayes’s live cover of Kate Bush’s song on the LIVE @ CLEERE'S EP, preserving a set-list favorite from her 2025 Irish performances. It presented one of Bush’s signature songs through Hayes’s stripped-back live arrangement. The recording kept Hayes’s version of “Cloudbusting” in circulation on streaming platforms and on her 2025 live EP. It also documented her continuing concert relationship with the song.
