Original Nuttah

UK Apache wrote the lyrics in the late 1980s and recorded the track in two takes over Shy FX’s "Gangsta Kid" in a studio in Victoria, after contacting Shy FX and SOUR Records head Dave Stone to cut an official version. Released in 1994, it became one of the earliest jungle tracks to reach the UK Top 40 and gave Shy FX his first chart hit. It also helped turn ragga jungle into a mainstream chart presence. The track remains a defining ragga-jungle anthem and was ranked by Rolling Stone in 2022 among the 200 greatest dance songs of all time. Its continued recognition has kept it central to histories of jungle and drum & bass.
