Move Ya' Body Line

DJ Chops · 1993
Recording

Ricky Chopra, Colin Grainger, and Frank McFarlane recorded Move Ya' Body Line in 1993 as a white-label production, with vocals performed by Richi-Dan. The trio had previously produced Me' Israelites, a 1990s hardcore track built around reggae vocals and hip-hop breakbeat energy. Released as a white label in the early 1990s, the track came from the same production circle that helped push reggae and breakbeat influences into the emerging jungle and drum and bass sound. Its ragga vocal lead and break-driven structure placed it within the period when hardcore was mutating into jungle. The track remains a personal and underground entry in the early-1990s UK breakbeat continuum. Its connection to Me' Israelites preserves the trio's role in a neglected strand of reggae-influenced hardcore and proto-jungle production.
