Jamaican Boy

Bost & Bim · 2008
Recording

Bost & Bim produced the track in France with vocals by Brisa Roché and Lone Ranger. The release credits all instruments to Bost & Bim and list the mix by Bost & Bim with Laurent Dupuy. The track reworked Estelle and Kanye West’s "American Boy" into an early-reggae version that fit Bost & Bim’s remix-driven catalog. It became a notable crossover release for the duo and was associated with Usain Bolt’s 100m victory celebration in Berlin. "Jamaican Boy" remained one of Bost & Bim’s best-known recordings and helped define their reputation for reggae reinterpretations of pop hits. It continued to circulate widely in DJ and reggae circles after release.
