I Hear Music in the Streets
Unlimited Touch · 1980Unlimited Touch recorded I Hear Music in the Streets with the New York vocal lineup of Audrey Wheeler, Philip Hamilton, Tony Cintron, Sandy Anderson, Stephanie James, and Lenny Underwood. Raymond Reid and William Anderson produced and arranged the Prelude single, with François Kevorkian credited on the mix. I Hear Music in the Streets became Unlimited Touch's signature club record and reached number 6 on the U.S. dance chart and number 33 on the U.S. R&B chart. It placed the group in the early-1980s New York dance-label scene around Prelude Records. The track remained a durable club record through later reissues and François Kevorkian-associated compilations. It was later sampled by Faith Evans for All Night Long and by Rampage with Billy Lawrence for Take It to the Streets.
