The Last 3 Digits on the Back of the Card
Sleaford Mods · 2011Recording
Recorded for Sleaford Mods' 2011 album S.P.E.C.T.R.E., with Jason Williamson writing and performing over music by Nail. Simon Parfrement handled computer work and Daz Smith mastered the release. The track belongs to Sleaford Mods' early, pre-breakthrough catalogue and demonstrates Williamson's abrasive spoken delivery over sparse sample-based backing. It incorporates elements of Zulema's If This World Were Mine. The recording documents the project's formative period before its wider recognition in the mid-2010s. Its reappearance on later editions of S.P.E.C.T.R.E. preserved an early example of the stripped-down method that defined Sleaford Mods.
