Curious

Recorded for Midnight Star's 1984 album Planetary Invasion, with the Calloway brothers shaping the group's synthesizer-heavy studio sound. The track was written by Bo Watson, Melvin Gentry, Belinda Lipscomb, and Reggie Calloway, and produced by Reggie Calloway for the Solar release. Released by Solar in 1984, Curious became one of Midnight Star's key slow-jam singles from the Planetary Invasion era. It reached number 8 on the Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart and helped balance the group's electro-funk hits with a smoother vocal ballad style. Curious remains one of Midnight Star's best-known quiet-storm recordings and a durable 1980s R&B slow jam. Its later sampling and interpolation by hip-hop and R&B artists kept the song active beyond its original Solar Records context.
