Recorded as a 1984 single by Washington, D.C. go-go group Little Benny & the Masters and produced by Shine. The original release was issued by Bluebird Records in the UK. The single became the group’s breakthrough release, reaching No. 33 on the UK Singles Chart in February 1985 and spending seven weeks on the chart. It helped push go-go into the UK mainstream at the time. It remains the band’s best-known recording and a standard reference point for Washington, D.C. go-go in the UK. The track’s continued presence on compilations and discographies has kept it in circulation well beyond its original release.
