Test Anxiety

“Test Anxiety” was released in 1997 by Toenut on Mute as a UK single, with versions including the original, Optical mix, Runaways dub mix and “Le Pepper.” The release credits Toenut for writing and production, with Steve Watson also credited as producer. The single placed the Atlanta band’s “Two in the Piñata” material into Mute’s 1997 single schedule with remix support from Optical. Its Optical versions connected the record to the late-1990s drum-and-bass remix market. “Test Anxiety” remains documented through its Mute vinyl and CD single formats and later digital listings. It is preserved as the Toenut release most closely linked to Optical’s remix work and the band’s brief major-label period.
