Come See About Me

Come See About Me

Lloyd Charmers · 1969
Recording

Recorded in Jamaica in 1969 as a reggae cover version of the Supremes song, issued on the Tramp label as part of a Lloyd Charmers/Soul Stirrers pairing. It appears in discographies as FLC 7826, with the flip side listed as "Five To Five." The track translated a Motown hit into an early reggae setting and sat alongside the other Lloyd Charmers sides being issued in the same period. Contemporary and later retrospective coverage treats it as one of the stronger cuts from that run of 1969 releases. It remained in circulation through later Trojan and retrospective compilations, keeping the Lloyd Charmers version available to reggae collectors and reissue listeners. The song continues to surface on modern digital reissues and anthology tracklists.
