Get It On (Mashup)

MuSol created the mashup for the 2011 project Motown House - The Album, blending Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” with Knee Deep’s instrumental in a soulful house setting. The track circulated as a CD-R promo and appeared in DJ podcasts and club playlists soon after its preview. The track sat at the center of MuSol’s Motown House - The Album concept, a collection of four-to-the-floor Motown mashups that drew club and specialist-house attention in 2011. It was highlighted in the house-music press as one of the project’s standout previews. The mashup continued to turn up in soulful-house mixes and podcast tracklists, keeping it in circulation among DJs and collectors. It remains part of the broader wave of Motown-house edits that bridged classic soul vocals and contemporary club production.
