Recording

Sub Sub recorded Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use) at Revolution Studios in Manchester with Melanie Williams on vocals. The track was written by Jez Williams, Jimi Goodwin, Andy Williams and Melanie Williams, and produced by Sub Sub. The single was released by Rob's Records in 1993 and became Sub Sub's biggest hit. It reached number three on the UK singles chart and number one on the UK dance chart during the early-1990s British club crossover period. Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use) remains the best-known Sub Sub single and a key pre-Doves record in the Williams brothers and Jimi Goodwin catalogue. Its sample of Revelation's Good Morning Starshine keeps it relevant to collectors tracing early-1990s UK dance records back to disco sources.
