Produced and mixed by Moss Daytoner in Penzance, Cornwall, the recording features Lucy Richards’s vocals alongside the band’s live instrumentation. Vocals and drums were recorded by Gareth Young at Cube Studios in Truro. First released on The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club, Vol. 5 in December 2017, the track helped introduce Daytoner’s transition from DJ edits to a recording band. Its familiar instrumental hook supports Richards’s new lyrics about staying strong. The track received its first vinyl release opposite Second Stomp in May 2018 and appeared on the band’s debut album Off the Hook. BBC support from Craig Charles and Chris Hawkins helped extend its audience.
