Beat 54 (All Good Now)
Jungle · 2018Recorded during the sessions for Jungle's second album, For Ever, with Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland handling vocals, keyboards and production alongside Inflo and Wes Oakland. The recording also featured additional bass and guitar from Oakland, backing vocals from Andro, Inflo and Rudi Salmon, and arranged strings. "Beat 54 (All Good Now)" was released immediately ahead of For Ever and highlighted the album's expansion of Jungle's earlier sound with richer strings, layered vocals and a relaxed groove. Contemporary reviews singled it out as one of the record's strongest groove-led tracks. The track became an enduring part of Jungle's second-album catalogue and continued to attract listeners through the group's expanding international audience. Its combination of falsetto vocals, strings and rhythmic production anticipated elements Jungle would further develop on later records.
