Wake Up This Day

Created during 2015 for Beat Tape 2, the track pairs Tom Misch's production, guitar and instrumentation with featured vocals from Jordan Rakei. Misch produced and mixed the recording. Released as a single from Beat Tape 2, the collaboration helped introduce Misch's developing blend of beat-making, live instrumentation and guest vocals. It also connected two emerging figures in London's independent music scene. The track remains an early signature collaboration for Misch and Rakei and a popular selection from Beat Tape 2. Its warm guitar-led production helped establish the sound Misch developed further on later releases.
