Hotter Than Hell

Remixed by UK producer Simon Neale (Shadow Child) from the original second single off Dua Lipa's self-titled debut album, written by Dua Lipa, Tommy Baxter, Gerald O'Brien, and Adam Midgley. The remix was released as part of a five-track remix package on Warner Records alongside reworkings from Miike Snow, Jack Wins, Matoma, and Carsten Fietz. The remix reframed one of the biggest UK pop singles of 2016 — the original peaked at number fifteen on the UK Singles Chart — for specialist club play, with Shadow Child stripping the vocal down over a driving four-to-the-floor production rooted in his signature blend of UK garage and house. The remix sits within a wider pattern of Shadow Child securing high-profile pop remix commissions that bridged the gap between mainstream chart pop and the UK underground, alongside his reworks for Duke Dumont and Disclosure, while helping to establish Dua Lipa's credibility within the electronic music community ahead of her later collaborations with Calvin Harris, Silk City, and Mark Ronson.
