Method Man
Method Man · 1993Recording
Recorded during the Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) sessions at Firehouse Studio in New York. Method Man performed the solo vocal, with RZA producing, arranging, programming, and mixing the track for Wu-Tang Clan. Released in 1993 as the B-side to Protect Ya Neck, it became the first major solo showcase for Method Man within Wu-Tang Clan's debut campaign. The single reached number 69 on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped establish him as one of the group's breakout figures. It remains one of Method Man's signature records and a central early example of Wu-Tang Clan's raw Firehouse-era sound. Its hook, solo spotlight, and later Tical remix kept the track central to Method Man's solo identity.
