Feel Good
Fancy · 1974Recorded at the Music Centre in Wembley, London, Feel Good was written by Mike Hurst and guitarist Ray Fenwick for Fancy's debut album Wild Thing. Produced by Hurst and engineered by Dave Hunt, the recording formed part of the band's sessions featuring British session musicians including Fenwick, bassist Mo Foster and drummer Henry Spinetti. Released in 1974 as the closing track of Wild Thing, Feel Good was an original composition by Hurst and Fenwick rather than a cover version. It appeared alongside the band's American hits Wild Thing and Touch Me, showcasing Fancy's combination of prominent guitar, bass-driven arrangements and dance-oriented rhythms. Feel Good has been preserved through reissues of Fancy's debut album, including the 2001 Wild Thing/Turns You On collection and the expanded Complete Recordings anthology released in 2021. The recording also appeared on the 2021 retrospective Mike Hurst: The Productions, documenting Hurst's work with Fancy and the British studio musicians involved in the project.
