Just a Touch of Love
Slave · 1979Recording
Recorded during Slave’s 1979 album sessions in New York and New Jersey, including Atlantic Studios, Power Station, and House of Music. Jimmy Douglass and Steve Washington are credited as the key producers on the original release, with Jeff Dixon also tied to the album’s production work. It was the title track from Slave’s fourth album and became one of the group’s best-known singles. The song helped define the band’s smoother Steve Arrington-era sound and reached the UK singles chart. The track became a durable funk staple through heavy sampling and later reinterpretations. Keith Sweat later covered it as “Just a Touch,” keeping the song in circulation for new R&B audiences.
