Funk You Very Much

Recorded at Tonstudio Zuckerfabrik in Stuttgart between October 28 and November 3, 1976, with Volker Kriegel’s Mild Maniac Orchestra. The session featured Kriegel, Thomas Bettermann, Hans Peter Ströer, Evert Fraterman, Nippy Noya, Alan Skidmore, Ack van Rooyen, and Wolfgang Dauner. It opened Octember Variations, the first album by Volker Kriegel’s Mild Maniac Orchestra, and MPS highlighted it as a driving showcase for the group’s funkier side. The track became one of the album’s defining pieces on release. The track stayed in circulation through later Kriegel retrospectives, including Star Edition and Das Beste aus den Siebzigern. Those appearances закрепed it as a recurring MPS-era signature piece in his catalog.
