Coatnoise

The track is the Dave Clarke remix of Damian Harris’s Midfield General single “Coatnoise,” released on Skint as SKINT62. The original recording is credited to Damian Harris and Elvis Costello, with Clarke handling the remix on the 2000 release. At release, the remix became one of Skint’s best-known tracks and one of the year’s biggest for Dave Clarke. It circulated widely through club play and compilation placements, helping push Midfield General beyond the Brighton Skint scene. The remix remained a regular in Dave Clarke’s sets and later appeared on major compilations and DJ-mix releases. Its profile lasted long enough for KiNK to rework the track decades later.
