K.S. Experience · 1988
Recording

The track was produced by Kevin Saunderson under his K.S. Experience alias for the 1988 compilation Techno! The New Dance Sound of Detroit. It appeared alongside early recordings by Derrick May, Blake Baxter, Eddie Fowlkes, Juan Atkins, Inner City, and other Detroit artists selected for the project. Released by 10 Records and Virgin in 1988, it formed part of the compilation that introduced Detroit electronic dance music to many UK and European listeners under the name techno. The track represented Saunderson's instrumental side at the same moment Inner City was crossing into the mainstream. The track remained tied to the foundational Detroit techno narrative through reissues of Techno! The New Dance Sound of Detroit and the later Techno One and Two compilation. It also stands as one of Saunderson's lesser-known early aliases alongside Reese, Tronik House, and E-Dancer.
