Ciara feat. Missy Elliott · 2004
Recording

Ciara and Jazze Pha recorded the track at Doppler Studios in Atlanta, and Missy Elliott cut her guest verse at Hit Factory Criteria in Miami. It was developed early in Ciara’s Goodies sessions and later issued as the album’s second single. Released in 2004, the single became one of Ciara’s defining breakthrough records, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spending seven weeks at that position. It also reached No. 3 on the UK Official Singles Chart, confirming her crossover into the mainstream pop market. The song remains one of Ciara’s signature early hits and a durable reference point for mid-2000s dance-pop and R&B crossover. Its long chart run and continued multi-platinum status show that it stayed culturally visible well beyond its release.
