Since I Found You (Love Is Better Than Ever)

Recorded in 1981 for RCA Victor as the B-side to Candy Bowman’s single “I Wanna Feel Your Love,” with production by Howard King and Edward Moore. The release paired the song with Bowman’s other 1981 sides and placed her in the early-1980s RCA/modern soul orbit. The track circulated as a prized modern soul cut rather than a mainstream pop single, and later reissue copy framed it as a mellow groove alongside the more uptempo A-side. Its appeal rested on its smooth production and vocal delivery, which helped it stand out in the 1981 RCA singles catalog. “Since I Found You (Love Is Better Than Ever)” has remained a collector favorite, was reissued years later, and was sampled in later tracks. It also inspired a cover by Crossroads featuring Natasha Springer in 2015, extending its reach beyond its original RCA run.
