Around the World

It was recorded during the Homework sessions at Daft House in Paris, where Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo built the album’s tracks in their home studio. The single was issued in April 1997 as the second release from Homework, with Daft Punk credited as the producers. The track became a major club hit and pushed Daft Punk into wider international view. It reached No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 1 on the UK Dance Singles Chart, while also crossing over to the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It remains one of Daft Punk’s signature recordings and a defining statement of the Homework era. Its repetitive hook and club success helped cement the duo’s reputation as major figures in house music and electronic pop.
