In the Bush
Musique · 1978Recorded at Bob Blank’s Blank Tape Studios in New York City as part of Musique’s low-budget debut album session, which was completed in four hours. Patrick Adams handled the production and arrangement, and the release paired the single version of "In the Bush" with an edited LP version. Released in 1978 on Prelude, "In the Bush" was one of the group’s breakthrough singles. Its overtly sexual lyrics drew radio bans, but the record still reached No. 58 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart. The track remained a signature disco title for Musique, circulating in later remix and reissue form, including the François Kevorkian remix credited on linked releases. Its continued chart and club reputation has kept it a staple of disco and dance compilations.
