The Riots · 1965
Recording

Recorded in Jamaica as a Treasure Isle production and credited on later reissues to The Riots with composition by Wilburn Cole and production by Arthur “Duke” Reid. The track appears on later compilations of Treasure Isle material, indicating its origin in Reid’s studio operation and catalogue. It was one of the Treasure Isle-era sides kept in circulation through later anthology releases, including Trojan and Treasure Isle compilation sets. Those reissues placed it alongside other foundational Jamaican recordings and preserved it as part of the catalog’s historical survey. The song remained available on multiple later compilations and streaming catalogs, which kept it in front of ska collectors and reissue listeners. Its continued reappearance on anthology releases shows sustained archival value rather than a one-off single life.
