Push the Feeling

Recorded in a Glasgow studio by John Reid as the Nightcrawlers project, the track blended acid jazz and disco influences with house elements and featured Reid's production and vocals. Released in 1992 as Nightcrawlers' second single on Island Records' 4th & Broadway label, the original version was a minor chart entry in the UK, though it achieved modest success in underground club play before being transformed by Marc Kinchen's subsequent remixes. The track became a cultural touchstone through Marc Kinchen's remixes, particularly the 1995 MK Dub Revisited Edit which peaked at number 3 on the UK Singles Chart. The song has been extensively sampled and referenced by later artists including Pitbull (Hotel Room Service, 2009) and AJ Tracey (Dinner Guest, 2020), cementing its influence on 1990s house music and beyond.
