The Cure & The Cause (feat. Tracey K)

Fish Go Deep recorded The Cure & The Cause with Tracey K, who supplied the vocal and co-wrote the song with Greg Dowling and Shane Johnson. The track was first released through Go Deep and later issued by Defected with Dennis Ferrer, Charles Webster, Balearic Soul, DJ Meme, and Full Intention mixes. Released in 2005, the single became Fish Go Deep's international breakthrough when the 2006 Defected issue reached number 23 on the UK Official Singles Chart. It also reached number one on the UK Official Dance Singles Chart and Independent Singles Chart. The track remains Fish Go Deep's signature record and one of Tracey K's best-known vocal performances. Its Dennis Ferrer remix became a lasting club version, and later Defected anniversary remixes by Idris Elba and Atmos Blaq kept it in circulation.
