Lighters Up

Lil’ Kim · 2005
Recording

Recorded in 2005 for The Naked Truth, the single was cut at Hit Factory Criteria Recording Studios in Miami and Sony Music Recording Studios in New York. Lil' Kim provided the vocals, with Scott Storch producing and Wayne "The Brain" Allison, Dan The Man, Aaron Fishbein, and Glen Marchese on the original release credits. Issued as the lead single from The Naked Truth, it gave the album immediate momentum and became Lil' Kim's strongest solo Hot 100 performer to that point. The song peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached No. 12 in the UK, confirming her continued commercial reach in both the US and abroad. The track remains one of Lil' Kim's signature solo records and one of her most recognizable anthems. It is still cited as a Brooklyn anthem and has continued cultural visibility through later media appearances and retrospective rankings.
